TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP at The Curators Hub
Acceptance of Agreement
The services that The Curators Hub provides to you, as an active Member—including but not limited to building access, use of office space, internet access, and other amenities—are subject to the following Membership Agreement (“the Agreement”). Members agree to abide by this Agreement and any additional terms communicated by The Curators Hub team, which may be shared verbally, by email, or in writing. The Curators Hub reserves the right to reasonably add, delete, or amend the Agreement at any time. Continued use of The Curators Hub services following any updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
1. LIMITED RIGHTS TO USE OF SPACE
1.1 Membership provides a license to use the space at The Curators Hub, not a lease or sublease.
1.2 Membership may be revoked at the discretion of The Curators Hub. If revoked, any prepaid fees for future periods will be refunded, and all membership privileges will cease.
1.3 All amenities—including hours, workspace availability, internet, and printing—are considered added privileges and may be modified at any time.
1.4 Occasional disruptions in access may occur (e.g., events, maintenance, or full closures).
1.5 The Curators Hub will make reasonable efforts to notify members of any known disruptions.
1.6 If your membership includes the use of The Curators Hub address as your business address, you must remove the address from all marketing materials, websites, and platforms upon cancellation. Continued use will result in billing for the Virtual Mail Plan on a month-to-month basis until removal is confirmed.
2. TERMS OF PAYMENT
2.1 Members agree to pay for the selected membership type and billing frequency as per their contract.
2.2 Memberships are billed monthly (unless otherwise specified) and are paid automatically using the billing method on file through the member management system.
2.3 Membership privileges may be suspended if payments are outstanding.
2.4 Membership fees are non-refundable. Days do not carry over month-to-month. Memberships automatically renew unless paused or canceled prior to the renewal date.
2.5 Meeting Space Policy:
Meeting space rental fees are non-refundable. As a courtesy, meeting space rentals may be rescheduled once, with the fee credited to your account for use toward another booking. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required. For weekend bookings or series of workshops, a minimum of 7 days’ notice is required. Rescheduled bookings are subject to availability. If canceled due to Force Majeure (see 5.5), a full credit or refund may be issued.
3. RESPECT FOR COMMUNITY INTERESTS
3.1 No member has exclusive use of any area unless contractually stated.
3.2 Members may not store goods in common areas without prior permission.
3.3 Members must clean up after themselves and their guests.
3.4 Prior permission is required to host events, post signage, or use the space in a way that affects others.
3.5 The Curators Hub reserves the right to decline events deemed inappropriate for the space or community.
3.6 Members agree not to disrupt the peaceful use of the space by others.
4. NO ILLEGAL OR OBJECTIONABLE ACTIVITY
4.1 Illegal activity on the premises or online is prohibited.
4.2 Members may not overload or interfere with internet/network systems.
4.3 Activities involving harassment, defamation, spam, or morally questionable behavior are prohibited.
4.4 Internet is provided as a convenience; The Curators Hub is not responsible for outages caused by third parties.
5. INDEMNIFICATION & LIMITED LIABILITY
5.1 Members are financially responsible for damages or injuries caused by their actions or negligence.
5.2 The Curators Hub is not liable for direct, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use (or inability to use) its facilities or services.
5.3 Members are responsible for the security of their belongings.
5.4 Members are encouraged to carry their own liability and personal property insurance. Additional insurance may be required for events or workshops.
5.5 Force Majeure:
The Curators Hub is not liable for failure to perform due to causes beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, etc.). Reasonable efforts will be made to communicate and minimize disruption.
6. FINAL PROVISIONS
6.1 The Curators Hub reserves the right to update these terms at any time.
6.2 If any provision is found invalid, the rest of the Agreement remains in full effect.
6.3 This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario.
By agreeing to become a member, you confirm that you have read and understood the above Terms and Conditions of Membership and agree to abide by them.
