About the Alliance for Mental Health Summit in Toronto

The Alliance for Mental Health Summit is a cultural and awareness-driven event created to provide a safe, human-centered space for open conversations about emotions, grief, and the unspoken losses within the Iranian community.

In a culture where discussing grief and loss is still considered taboo, this summit offers an opportunity to break the silence and restore the voice of emotion, a place where every individual can acknowledge their silent grief without fear or judgment, validate their feelings, and speak about them with courage.

This three-day in-person event is the first of its kind, designed specifically for the Persian-speaking immigrant community, individuals who, through the journey of migration, face intangible forms of loss such as identity, language, home, career, social status, and human connection. In this space, we learn how to transform pain not by hiding it, but by bringing it into awareness, meaning, and healing together.

The Alliance for Mental Health Summit is an invitation to return to the heart, to honest dialogue, and to collective healing; a step toward building a culture in which acknowledging and expressing emotions is seen as a strength.
